Dr. Preston attended the University of Missouri-Columbia Medical School. In addition to his degree in Medicine, he holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He received M.S. and B.S. degrees in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of California-Riverside, respectively. Dr. Preston completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Brooke Army Medical Center at Ft. Sam Houston, TX and a fellowship in oncology and hematology also at Brooke Army Medical Center.
While in the service, Dr. Preston served as the chief of the Hematology/Oncology clinic at Brooke Army Medical Center, and has received numerous awards including those for research. He has served as the director of the Maxwell Thurman Drug Development Unit at Brooke Army Medical Center in collaboration with the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio. He has also served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine while serving at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. He completed his career in the Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and received the Meritorious Service Medal upon leaving the Army in 2006. He is a member of the Burnet-Lampasas County Medical Society, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Texas Medical Association, and the Christian Medical Society. He is also a volunteer speaker for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Marble Falls.
Dr. Preston’s oncology interests include the development and implementation of new anticancer drugs with special interest in lung, colon and breast cancer. While practicing oncology and hematology in Marble Falls, Dr. Glenn Preston also serves the Burnet, Llano, Horseshoe Bay and Highland Lakes areas of Texas. He devotes his free time to his wife and four children and enjoys hiking and football.
