Clinical Research Overview
Clinical Trial Research at Cancer Care Centers of South Texas
Today, clinical trial research is no longer conducted exclusively at large university cancer centers or major metropolitan hospitals. Cancer Care Centers of South Texas (CCCST) has embraced clinical trial research as a critical component of community-based care for patients with cancer or blood disorders. CCCST is making a very significant contribution to the search for new cancer treatment options and new treatments for blood disorders.
Clinical trials are integral to Cancer Care Centers of South Texas. Our objective is to provide direct access for our patients to the most advanced investigational treatment options available, and to provide patients with more treatment options. We offer clinical trials to eligible patients in San Antonio and at many of our sites of service in the surrounding area.
Cancer Care Centers of South Texas brings the most recent and meaningful advances in clinical trial research to your community. Our patients are able to access state-of-the-art investigational therapies, while their own physician directs and closely monitors their care. Patients are able to remain at home near family and loved ones.
We are affiliated with the US Oncology Research Network, one of the nation's largest healthcare networks dedicated to cancer treatment and clinical trial research, specializing in
Phase I-IV clinical trials. This affiliation allows us to provide patients in the communities that we serve, access to many of the most current and innovative clinical trials available. The US Oncology Research Network has contributed to the development of 39 anti-cancer drugs approved by the FDA.
